Department of Zoology, Shikshanmaharshi Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe College, Miraj

     A s per the syllabus of B. Sc. III, Zoology, Shivaji university, Kolhapur, Department of Zoology   organized short tour 'Visit to Patvardhan Poultry farm', located in Miraj on date 28th April, 2023.   All the students with Respected Staff members Mrs. Asha Potalwad, Dr. Asha Kengar, Dr. Shilpa Khairmode and Miss. Summaiyya Mirajkar visited the farm. The study tour aimed to study recent status of poultry farm in local area, modern poultry management, poultry as business and opportunity as employment, with importance and benefits of poultry farming in daily life. Students gained the details regarding:  -Commercial poultry feeding is a highly perfected science that ensures a maximum intake of energy for growth and fat production. High quality and well balanced protein source, rich in minerals and vitamins which is required.  -Management of farm under carefully controlled  environment, housing,  feeding, watering, egg gathering, and cleaning operations -Poultry bird's dise

                      The Department of Zoology organized a ZOOFEST-2022 program including Poster, rangoli and essay competition, on date 18th and 19th October 2022, under the guidance Respected Head Dr. Sunil Kamble Sir. The basic theme of the program revolves around the center of wildlife and its conservation, with focus on conservation of biodiversity as well. The program started with Shikshanmaharshi Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe's and Sanstha Mata Smt. Sushiladevi Salunkhe's Pratima pujan by Honorable Principal Prof. (Dr.) Satish Ghatage Sir, with offering of flowers by Respected Head Dr. Sunil Kamble Sir.             The aim behind organizing the ZOOFEST-2022 is to make students more aware about the conservation and protection of the wildlife and biodiversity.
